Huntsville, Alabama - Brown Precision, Inc. (BPI) has received ISO9001-2000 certification following a four-day audit completed by Management Certification Services. This achievement confirms that BPI has implemented a Quality Management System that maximizes product quality and production efficiency.
ISO9001-2000 certification focuses primarily on quality management that ensures that the company produces its products in a way that is required by the customer. Criteria for ISO9001-2000 certification includes: customer-focused organization; leadership; process approach; system approach to management; continual improvement; factual approach to decision-making; and mutually-beneficial supplier relationships.
Within the same week of being recommended for ISO9001-2000 certification, Brown Precision, Inc. was informed by PPG Aerospace that BPI had been awarded not only a National Small-Business 2002 Supplier of the Year Award, but also was selected as The National 2002 Supplier of the Year for PPG Aerospace to add to the company's accomplishments.
Greg Brown, Vice-President/CFO, said, "The 2002 Supplier of the Year Awards from PPG are perfect evidence of the commitment BPI has to it's customers and the awards are a testament to the dedication of our employees to achieve our company's customer-oriented goals."
